Eyes and Emotions
Our eyes are an integral organ related to our survival and well-being. They represent 70% or our balance system and our ability to maintain verticality. With them we scan our environment, focus on novelty and determine what is safe and what is a threat. Do we move towards or away from the novelty? Do we stay where we are? Our eyes have an intimate relationship with our reflexes and our autonomic nervous systems.
Our eyes also convey our emotions. By observing the eyes we can see such feelings as happiness, disgust, fear, surprise, anger and so on. The Tuning Board heightens and deepens our awareness of the relationship of our eyes to our reflexes and sensing and to the associated emotions that lie within our bodies. Using specific exercises the Tuning Board’s loving motion stimulates and heals the effects of trauma, dissociation and difficult affect that can be seen in our eyes.
